Finding the Light
1 minute animation entered into the RSA Design Awards using the transcript “Living and Dying Well” narrated by Micheal Buerk. “Finding the Light” focuses on the problem of fear taking over during an illness, arguing that, whilst this is normal, we must focus on the positive by remaining hopeful, looking for support, and planning for the future. The animation uses colour to display a contrast between where the narrative is more negative and from where it is more hopeful through the use of red and black, and yellow and blue. The animation features smooth transitions which allow for it to flow fluidly, attempting to create a calming feel whilst allowing for the animation to feel overwhelming at times, like an illness.
